Barb Enjoys the Mini-Waterfall234 viewsLying in a patch of poison ivy, but fully clothed, Barb contemplates the sights and smells of nature as she racks out for a while. The location of this waterfall is a secret, but it is not far from Craggy Gardens.

Linville Falls307 viewsThe lower falls in all their fall glory. We got there a little late in the day, so there's a shadow, but you get the idea.

Linville Falls - A Wider View301 viewsIt was a perfect fall day. This was shot from Tyson's View. (Not Mike Tyson--that view would be from the canvas, and I don't mean painting!).

Tight Shot of Linville Falls383 viewsI had to give you several shots to choose from!

Wiseman's View678 viewsOn the other side of Linville Gorge from Linville Falls, Wiseman's View gives you an eagle's eye view of the gorge and the mountains.

Linville Gorge526 viewsThe autumn view of the gorge from Wiseman's View.
NC Fall 2003 - 08.jpg
Table Rock Mountain728 viewsViewed from across the gorge, Table Rock Mountain makes its presence and the reason for its name obvious. It is a favorite among rock climbers because of its sheer granite faces.
NC Fall 2003 - 09.jpg
A Lookout at Wiseman's View801 viewsA very serene place on an autumn day. The man pictured at the pulpit worked here many years ago. Thus, he had some interesting stories about the gorge.
NC Fall 2003 - 10.jpg
Hawksbill Mountain630 viewsViewed from across the gorge, Hawksbill Mountain (seen here) is adjacent to Table Rock Mountain. I suppose that if you look closely, you can see what resembles a hawk's bill.

Barb Lives Dangerously660 viewsNot ME--no way! Well, I've been on those rock outcroppings before, but I definitely wasn't too comfortable. There's a several hundred foot drop on three sides. Barb was energized--"replenished," as she'd say. (Too bad I forgot to bring the flash and she's in the late afternoon shadows.) This is in an area of Wiseman's View that is fenced off so you can't go there.

Dry Falls604 viewsIt was approaching sunset as Barb and I tooled through Western North Carolina around Cashiers on a windy, narrow road. We saw a sign that said something about a waterfall, and we decided to stop there for a looksee.
